The Port of Townsville is Northern Australia’s largest container and automotive port, and the country's leading exporter of copper, zinc, lead, sugar, fertiliser and molasses. Located in the heart of Northern Australia's largest city, the Port handles more than 30 diverse commodities and is a strategic defence and cruise port.
The Port of Lucinda is located 100 kilometres north of Townsville, and is the prime sugar export facility for the Hinchinbrook region.
Trade through our ports is forecast to treble over the next 30 years, and our $1.6 billion port expansion plan will ensure that we facilitate growth in a sustainable manner.
Port Vision 2050 sets out our journey to a sustainable future, with 12 strategic objectives and 27 initiatives across four priority areas to do more for the planet, the communities we serve, for our people and for the prosperity of our region as Australia's Port for the Future.
